We have many temporarily donated warehouses of various sizes strategically placed along the Gulf Coast.
Please wait for an email from us for where to send your Hair, fur, fleece, nylons etc. to make sure supplies and booms are effectively distributed.
We are coordinating space for donations and emailing addresses of warehouses with space.
Please check your spam folder, before contacting us if you haven't gotten an email within 2 weeks of sign up.

1. You (Recipients & Donors) first sign up (see why) and provide your location. We serve throughout the US, Canada and beyond.
2. You can post unlimited donations and / or wishes
3. You can update / edit / delete / add donations and / or wishes 24/7
4. We do all the reviewing and matching automatically 24/7
5. We
send emails to Donors and Recipients near each other
6. You RESERVE, CONFIRM, CANCEL, DELETE or ignore matches, according to your desires
7. We provide follow-through emails with links to make the process easy and efficient
8. You contact each other to arrange a convenient pick up / drop off since you're near each other. See why we don't warehouse
9. We provide the Tax-deductible Receipts / Thank you letters for the donors and copies for the recipients
We have no guarantees
except that we try our hardest to help you and the environment by keeping
useful materials out of garbage dumps and getting them into the hands
of those in need
Please note: We have Special Programs (examples: Hair Mat Oil Spill Clean Up Program, A Wish list In Every Classroom Program... See full list) After you have signed up and indicated you want to be in these programs, you will receive specific assistance, by email, if you are a Hair Salon / Pet Groomer / Waste Wool donor... Teacher, Foster Program...
THE PROCESS IN DETAIL (1-9):
1) You SIGN UP and provide your location (see why)
2) You receive an email with an activation link
3)
You login and post your wishes and/or donations
- For best matching, separate your items into multiple postings
- Post as many wishes / donations as you like all year long
- You may add photo links, special instructions regarding facilities, pick up / drop off...
We at Excess Access match:
- donors' items and recipients' wishes automatically
- by zip code radius, city, county...
- 24/7
- specialized postings by hand
We at Excess Access:

review all postings

reserve the right to remove dangerous, illegal and offensive entries
4) You (Recipients) are alerted by emails of POTENTIAL MATCHES with nearby donations
We at Excess Access send emails to all potential recipients:
- with the same wish
- within a certain zip code radius of the donor
- with the item posted in the email subject
Recipients can:
- click to Reserve the donation (see below)
- click on Not Interested
- ignore the email
5) You (Recipients) RESERVE items that interest you
Please note:

all reservations are
on a First Come First Served basis
- if you want the item, reserve it ASAP
- reservations remove the posting from all other nearby Potential Match recipient accounts
- nearby organizations can have the same wish and race to the reservations

you can email us if this happens a lot
Your Excess Access accounts and emails show:
- potential matches

when a posting has been reserved

the donor and the recipient contact information so you can both arrange pick up / drop off.
6)
You both (Donors and Recipients) CONTACT each other to arrange PICK UP / DROP OFF
Basic contact info is:
- emailed to you both
- accessible online at your Excess Access accounts
- email and phone #s (and address for businesses only)
- to make sure you are conveniently near each other. See why there's no warehousing
7) You both (Donors and Recipients)
have the
right to CONFIRM or CANCEL or DELETE:
Confirmed means:
- Donors and Recipients have agreed on item(s) pick up / drop off
Cancelled Please Rematch means:
- the posting will be rematched again with all the nearby potential recipients wishing for this item

Donors and Recipients don't need to explain why they cancel a reservation
Delete means:
- donor has decided to keep the item
- item has been discarded
- item has been donated but not through Excess Access
8) PICK UP / DROP OFF of items
- recipients / donors
should plan ahead to pick up / drop off items
- strong volunteers, appropriate vehicles, access to freight elevators, certificates of insurance... should be discussed

9) Tax-deductible Receipts / Thank you letters
Excess Access:

sends tax-deductible receipt / Thank You letter
emails with the nonprofit's tax-exempt ID #

sends copies to both donor and nonprofit/recipient
